Comment from Michael Beining THURIO - for a racing TB-sire rather a poor sire!
If however one understands something about TBs in regard to sporthorsebreeding, then THURIO has to be named because it is no coincidence that not only the other most important TB sire beside HURRY ON is SON-IN-LAW through his sire:DARK RONALD and his dam DARKIE is yes! by THURIO ! But not enough of these 2 or better 3 stallions in America one of the important sires for sporthorses
was BLUE LARKSPUR and even linebred: 3f X 4f to PADUA by THURIO - unfortunately there is one little remark: " ALTERNATE SIRE: UNCAS !" What gave me the same stomach ache as when I read THURIO's sire: TIBTHORPE or CREMORNE - while the last mentioned is normally the correct one.
At 3: won Grand Prix de Paris G1; Craven Stakes G3
Sired by TIBTHORPE or CREMORNE. TIBTHORPE was owned by Prince Soltykoff. For CREMORNE it was his first crop THURIO belonged to. So CREMORNE's owner Henry Savile claimed : THURIO was by his sire. - Prince Soltykoff though was sure he was by his own sire.
THURIO was leased for 2 years to France according to the General Studbook of 1881
His color was registered as brown, on the other hand, black or brown at birth.
Shot on May 27, 1902.
Thurio, 1875, Thoroughbred

There is a possibility that Tibthorpe was his father.
