Steffen Peters and Ravel
Ravel was the first U.S. horse to win the Rolex FEI World Cup Dressage Final (2009) and to sweep all three Grand Prix classes at the CDIO Aachen (2009).
He competed on the 2008 and 2012 Olympic teams and won two individual bronzes at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games (2010).
Ravel was the Adequan/USDF Grand Prix Horse of the Year (2009-2011) and the 2009 USEF Farnam/Platform Horse of the Year and claimed more than 40 Grand Prix victories,
Ravel was owned by Akiko Yamazaki and her husband Jerry Yang of Four Winds Farm and ridden so successfully by Steffen Peters.
The charismatic bay was awarded "Horse of the Year" tiltles from United States Equestrian Federation, United States Dressage Federation, KWPN-NA Royal Dutch Warmblood Horse Registry and Chronicle of the Horse
I like what Anne Gribons said about Ravel:
"He defeated every champion in his era of competition. Steffen Peters and Ravel did indeed beat Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro 7 months before the 2012 London Olympics. The duo also beat both Olympic medalists Adelinde Cornelissen and Laura Bechtolsheimer in the CHIO Aachen 2011".
After the 2012 London Olympics, Ravel was retired from competition to Akiko and Jerry's Four Winds Farm, in Woodside, California.
